1. Royal Armouries Museum
While museums aren’t everyone’s favorite attraction, the Royal Armouries is a very impressive collection of armour and arms and is the second site of the Royal Armouries with the other being the iconic Tower of London.
The collection here is so vast and remarkable that the museum cost a staggering £42.5 million ($56 million) to build.
Within this breathtaking site, visitors will find countless suits of very well preserved medieval armour, ancient and modern weapons, remnants of many wars and artillery. The Royal Armouries Museum is government owned and admission is free.
2. Yorkshire Dales
With a spare day in a visitor’s schedule, Leeds’ benefits from close to proximity to one of England’s most coveted national parks.
Without a doubt, the best way to witness the beauty of this part of Yorkshire while traveling to the Yorkshire Dales National Park is by train. Catching the Leeds-Carlisle line is a great choice and has been described as “the most spectacular train journey in England”.
Once arriving in the national park, visitors will be able to take in the scenery via hiking, mountain bike riding or simply just soak up the sights at many of the lively cafes, restaurants or pubs.

Leeds’ is situated in a very beautiful part of England and the beauty of this area can not be understated. Roundhay Park is a massive parkland area situated within Leeds itself, just outside of the city centre.
It is just as suitable for a solo traveler as it is a couple or a family. It’s a great place to unwind by simply going for a walk before stopping for a cup of coffee or a family picnic or barbeque by one of its lakes.
