Tips for a Luxury Trip to Los Angeles
Looking to shake up your boring routine? If you having been working hard lately, treat yourself by going on a luxurious trip to Los Angeles.
Home to America’s entertainment industry, there are plenty of hotels, attractions, restaurants, and nightspots there that will help you live your life to the max – if only for a week.
Let’s get into the details below:
Getting there:
Start your trip to L.A. by getting there in style. There are many business class flights to Los Angeles that depart from Heathrow, ensuring you’ll be treated like a VIP from the moment that you arrive at the airport.
By spending extra on business class airfare, you will be entitled to lounge access, which permits you to relax in a peaceful environment before boarding your flight.
Drinks, snacks, and a la carte meals are available here, along with business centres and fast Wi-Fi. Don’t get too absorbed in the diversions here, though, or you might have to rush to your gate!
On the flight over, you’ll often be given a complimentary drink at takeoff, you’ll be served food that is far superior to what economy class is given, and you’ll be gifted amenities that will allow you to freshen up after a restful sleep in your lie-flat bed. Air New Zealand and Virgin Atlantic both offer great Business Class seats to LAX.
Stay:
After clearing customs at LAX, hire a limousine to take you to your hotel. If haven’t a clue where to book, Hotel Bel-Air is always a good bet, as their customer service has attracted the likes of Julia Roberts and Nicole Kidman in the past.
With a Michelin-star restaurant run by Wolfgang Puck attached, it is well worth the £395 per night that it costs to stay there.
Those looking for affordable luxury (£191 per night) will want to stay at The Hollywood Roosevelt. A historic hotel located in the middle of L.A.’s most glamorous neighbourhood, this spot has had numerous celebrities pass through its doors since 1927, including Marilyn Munroe.
Be sure to spend at least a few of your evenings by the poolside, as this place transforms into a luxe nightspot that hots up and coming DJ’s, and it also crafts some of the best cocktails in Hollywood.
See:
While you will undoubtedly spend a couple days checking out all of Hollywood’s mainstream attractions (like Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and the Walk of Fame), there are so many other things to see in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area.
Head to Beverly Hills if you want to get some luxury shopping done (Rodeo Drive), or if you want to get a look at the houses of the rich and famous, grab a star map and go hunting for celebrity’s houses.
We recommend going on an organized tour, though, as they will explain who lives where, along with associated trivia that will make your experience here more memorable.
Finally, if you love arts and culture, the Getty Centre and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art are outstanding highlights in this city’s scene, as they contain hundreds of thousands of pieces between them that have been sourced from all around the world.
Eat:
Those looking for a fantastic meal in the Los Angeles area will have plenty of excellent options available to them. Seafood lovers will enjoy a meal out at Providence, as this Michelin starred restaurant in Santa Barbara will offer you expertly prepared dishes prepared from ingredients ranging from Maine lobster to sea bass.
Those looking to dine in a steakhouse that has long been a favourite of stars and movie producers will want to reserve a table at Musso & Frank Grill.
Situated right on Hollywood Boulevard, it is the oldest eatery in town, as it has been serving up AAA American beef to customers like Charlie Chaplin since 1919.
Even if you aren’t that into steak, there are lighter options such as spaghetti and meatballs that will satisfy you even as the carnivores in your group devour their ribeyes and sirloins.
Drink:
When the sun sinks into the Pacific, certain parts of L.A. are just beginning to hit their stride. As mentioned earlier, the pool area of the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood is a popular nightspot, as it draws a hip clientele that include the occasional celebrity.
Those wanting to enjoy a drink with a killer view will have several choices available to them throughout Los Angeles.
Perch and the Rooftop are great for those looking for an urban aesthetic, as they are both surrounded by skyscrapers downtown, but we personally suggest heading to Skybar if you are looking for something truly epic.
Sitting at an elevated position in the Hollywood Hills, the nighttime views of the L.A. Metro Area that can be had from this posh lounge will likely count as one of the best memories of your trip to Los Angeles.
