The Environmental Media Association has launched a national cell phone recycling campaign that will raise money to protect the environment and lower CO2 emissions.

Just click on the "Environmental Media Association Phone Recycling Program" link and you will be taken to the area where you can print out a free postage-paid label that allows you to send off up to 5 lbs. of phones to recycle.

Celebrity supporters include Rosario Dawson, Sienna Miller, Heather Graham and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Info on the campaign:

  • Recycling your cell phone is a great way to help the environment as you will be lowering CO2 emissions by recycling parts rather than creating new ones
  • Consumers replace their phone an average of every 9 months
  • 75% of those phones are in drawers gathering dust so that means there are hundreds of millions of phones out there
  • Go to Environmental Media Association Phone Recycling Program and print out a postage paid label and you can recycle them for free and raise money to protect the environment
